Gülnaz Ör

Hello, I’m Gülnaz, I’m the Engagement Associate at ATÖLYE. As a connector, I love creating interactions, both in person and virtual. Continuing on from my professional and volunteer experiences, I prioritize building bridges to bring people together from different backgrounds, with a shared purpose. I thrive when I can create spaces for people to share knowledge and expand their ideas and opportunities.

Gülnaz wears several hats, with her background in programming, community building and events. She joined ATÖLYE in 2019 as the Events Intern, and later became the Events and Programs Associate. Her work focuses on the different stages of the planning and execution of private community events as well as public events. This includes roles varying from content and communications to operations and business development.

She aims to maintain and build on existing client and community relationships, as well as engaging in new partnerships. Most recently, Gülnaz managed various projects including the “We the Youth” online youth hackathon in partnership with UNFPA, from pitch to delivery. Her responsibilities included ensuring team productivity, managing client expectations and acting as a layer of communication between teams and stakeholders.

Gülnaz holds a BA in Business Management from University of Oxford Brookes, including an exchange semester at Université Paris Dauphine. Her focus areas during university have been Third Sector Management, Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship. She did internships in bomontiada and İKSV under Events and Media Relations, during her university studies. In the UK, she worked in positions varying from festival stewardess to Sofar event volunteering.

Gülnaz believes that volunteering is critical in improving the links between various sectors, ventures and individuals. Therefore, she has been involved in volunteering efforts since high school and is a volunteer for Sulukule Gönüllüleri Derneği since 2019. Gülnaz co-facilitates workshops with children and young people for over 2 years, her main responsibilities include maintaining group focus, while strengthening their sense of belonging and trust to their peers and school environment.

In her spare time, you can find Gülnaz exploring on foot, watching surfing videos or developing colorful vegetarian recipes.
