Funda Çevik Dinsdale

Lead, Visual Communication & Brand Design

Hello, my name is Funda and I’m a Senior Visual Communications Designer at ATÖLYE. I enjoy being engaged with all aspects of a project, from research to concept development to production. I am happiest when exploring the interplay between word and image and I’m never ashamed of a good pun.

What you won't learn from my bio
I’ve lived in 8 countries. So far.

Funda joined ATÖLYE in 2020 as a Senior Visual Communications Designer. Her role focuses on complementing and enriching ATÖLYE’s communications efforts through visual storytelling both in print and digital mediums. She has been involved in a variety of projects ranging from designing the identity and visual narrative of kyu Graph to crafting ATÖLYE Academy’s colorful brand.

Funda is a versatile designer with over 10 years of experience in branding, communication design and advertising. She started her career in Edinburgh as an independent designer working with a variety of SMEs, arts festivals, higher education institutions, charities and UK-based research centers. Upon her return to Turkey she joined BrandSeers, an Istanbul-based brand consultancy serving local and international clients in strategy, trend analysis and design. Prior to ATÖLYE she was an art director at independent advertising agency Modiki providing online and offline communications solutions to Turkey’s leading brands.

Funda completed her undergraduate degree at Bilkent University’s Department of Graphic Design and then went on to obtain an MFA from the Edinburgh College of Art in the United Kingdom. Her master’s thesis focused on narrative and its role in enriching the design process, which continues to inform her practice.

Outside of work, Funda loves printmaking and regularly dreams about setting up a small screen printing studio. She’s happiest out in the fresh air where you can find her hiking, trail running or negotiating the winds as a newbie sailor.
