“Evdeki Yaratıcılar” – Creators at Home, brings together new discoveries with former guests, focusing on the creative processes, inspiration and personal stories of artists and designers in the period of pandemic and social isolation.
The eighth guest of the series is artist Meltem Şahin. She graduated as valedictorian from the Bilkent University Graphic Design department, and completed her Master’s at MICA, where she went on a Fulbright scholarship. In 2013, her works were selected for the yearbook of the Bologna Children’s Books Fair. The book she illustrated “P is for Pussy” in 2016 was mentioned in many different foreign press channels, including, Huffington Post and BuzzFeed. Her illustration for Calling Mag was chosen for the 2017 edition of American Illustration. In 2017, she curated an augmented reality exhibition called PMS, consisting of female artists. The animations were shown in 6 different countries. Her stickers on Instagram have been viewed over 150 million times. In June, her GIFs, animations and her video produced with AI were exhibited in 4 different virtual exhibitions as well as in Tokyo within the scope of Wrong Biennale.
