Büşra Serdar
Hi, I’m Büşra. I’m a Community Associate at ATÖLYE. I love bringing people together and helping them form new bonds. I have a tendency to adapt to changes quickly. Due to my educational background in design, visual arts, performing arts and sociology, I love working in areas where different disciplines intersect; I also love working on multiple projects at the same time which keep me nourished and feeling alive. I best reflect my potential where there is joy and inclusiveness.
Büşra, who started her journey at ATÖLYE as an intern during her undergraduate education, joined the team in July 2021 as a Community Associate. Büşra likes to design meaningful social interactions and works to strengthen interactive experiences alongside the operational processes of the ATÖLYE community.
Büşra completed “Media & Management” and “Film & Video” specialization programs along with the Media and Visual Arts major and Sociology minor at Koç University. During her second year, she took part in the core team of the culture and arts initiative Miket, and supported the execution of the project creation and operation processes of the Datça Theater Festival for almost 3 years. She worked to add new perspectives to this field and to be a part of the festival experience she dreamed of, influenced by her interest in culture and arts from a young age. She learned a lot from trial and error in areas such as field design, team coordination, communication, marketing, programming, field operation, and sponsorship by taking responsibility in many steps of a comprehensive project during her university years.
On the other hand, she realized that she was interested in design and took lessons in the fields of user experience design, research methods, basic design and design history courses.
After realizing that she enjoys bringing people together through meaningful interactions, she started working as a research assistant at IxD Research Group within the KUAR Design Lab in 2020. There, she started working with Asst. Prof. Dr. Aykut Coşkun and PhD candidate María Laura Ramírez Galleguillos. She assisted the project in areas such as workshops, research processes and data synthesis. Although she graduated in 2021, she continues to work there voluntarily. She has an academic publication that he is involved in within the scope of the project.
She is the project coordinator of the Podcast Series called Alumni Stories, which started in April 2020.
Büşra is also passionate about photography and fiction literature. She loves dancing at events she enjoys organizing with her friends, house game parties, traveling alone and any new place with good coffee.
