Under the theme of “spectrum”, CreativeMornings Istanbul is hosting Alara Adalı, who is a writer, journalist and facilitator focusing on diversity and inclusion, gender equality, women’s empowerment, migration and climate justice.

About the speaker:

 

Alara is a writer, journalist and facilitator, working in the social change. She focuses on diversity and inclusion, gender equality, women’s empowerment, migration and climate justice. She has worked for various civil society and media organisations in London and Istanbul. She is currently working with Migrateful, where she facilitates cooking workshops with refugee chefs. She is also in the core team of Climate Museum UK and London International Development Network.

 

Alara is passionate about interdisciplinary ways of thinking and creating. She enjoys building multi-sectoral collaborations and works on themes such as horizontal leadership and power-sharing. Her recent think piece ‘Decolonising Systems Thinking’ has gained attention from diverse audiences around the world such as entrepreneurs, consultants and activists.

 

She holds an MA in World History and Cultures from King’s College London and a BA in History from Boğaziçi University. Her academic specialisation is in memory studies. Alara also writes short stories as an emerging fiction author.
