About the Talk:
Despite global trends, the MENA product and design communities are still emerging. Like everywhere else in the world, designers and product managers are in high demand in MENA. It’s still a relatively new role in this part of the world and the supply of local talent is limited. Not many people have heard of product design or product management let alone know what it takes to be good at it. But as the economies and tech ecosystems of MENA continue to develop, a small but growing community of designers and product managers has started to emerge.
In this fireside chat Jonathan Steingiesser, Head of Product Design at Property Finder will facilitate a discussion with Ronnie and Yi-Wei where they share their views, challenges, successes, learnings and predictions for the future in relation to The State of Product & Design in the UAE and broader MENA region.

About the Speakers:
Ronnie Varghese, VP – Digital Product at Seera Group
Ronnie spent his early years winning national spelling bees and earning honours as a debate champion. But, his career has been spent making people’s lives better through coaching, mentorship and building useful technology. He started as a tech/management consultant, moved on to found his first startup, later co-founded and assumed the role of CEO at another, and was appointed Sr. Director of Technology & PMO after their acquisition. After taking a year off to be a full-time dad, Ronnie now serves the digital product team at Seera/Almosafer/Tajawal.
Yi-Wei Ang, Chief Product Officer at Talabat (Delivery Hero)
Yi-Wei is on a mission to build product-led organizations. Product-led organizations are customer obsessed, data-driven, and experimentation-focused organizations that leverage the power of technology to solve problems across the company. They focus on the long term, and don’t run the business based on quarter-over-quarter targets. Yi-Wei has lived in Singapore, Seattle, Vancouver, Toronto, Beijing, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, and now Dubai, where he is the Chief Product Officer at talabat, the largest Food Delivery company in the MENA region.
